On Saturday, Feb. 14, Jeannette Rowlett, of Berea, will demonstrate her heart-shaped jewelry using crystals and sterling silver from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

A Laurel county native, Rowlett is a retired teacher and administrator who lives in Madison County. She specializes in the ancient art of wire-wrapped jewelry, which is made using non-solder methods and simple tools. With her hands, she bends, smoothes and shapes sterling silver and 14-karat rolled gold wire around semi-precious stones and colorful Austrian crystals to make sparkling and unique pieces of jewelry.
