Free Guided Gallery Tours at Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea
On Saturday, July 11, the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea will offer visitors free guided tours through the center’s gallery exhibit, “Turn, Turn, Turn: Lathe-Turned Works by Kentucky Artisans.”
The exhibit “Turn, Turn, Turn” features lathe-turned works by 20 Kentucky artists. It includes vessels, ornaments, jewelry and even a wooden golf club. These works are created from wood, alabaster stone, aluminum, stainless steel and sterling silver.

These free, guided exhibit tours will be led by Kentucky Artisan Center information specialist Gwen Heffner who will talk about the exhibit, the artists and individual works. Heffner will answer questions about the techniques and various processes used in the objects featured. Tours will be given at 11 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.
In addition, on July 11, Wendy Currier, of Lexington, will be demonstrating her pen and ink recycled material sculptures from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located at 200 Artisan Way, just off Interstate 75 at Berea Exit 77. The center’s exhibits, shopping and travel information areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the cafe open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
